We can’t say enough how good it is to reach land after a long journey. We took a lot of chance coming up here with all the odds against Joao’s health. But our Captain is who he is and he would not rest until he saw his family and Casulo safely tucked in. It could not have been better… Our wonderful friends Fred, Colleen and Megan kindly offered their dock in Fort Lauderdale to be Casulo’s berth while Joao goes back to Brazil to do all the exams he has to. Luana and Marina felt like home at Guido’s family household. It is a great sensation to feel safe and welcomed.
I will make an effort to write the blog in English and Portuguese (like I already do not have enough things to do!

But I would like to share with our friends who can’t speak Portuguese yet! Luana and Marina’s English is becoming better than mine and please forgive any mistakes I make along the way, or the perfectionist which is in me will not allow me to do it in English.
We have a huge to do list for Casulo in Florida but we have not managed to do much of it because we have been enjoying urban life so intensively. Full time Internet, a/c, take away food and sat tv are all a bit overwhelming for us who were used to very little in the Caribbean. But like Joao says, the contrast is what make each little thing more enjoyable and what contrasts we have been exposed to recently.
Our next plans are all hanging on, waiting for Joao to come back. If everything is ok, then we move on up the East coast.
